Voices of our guests

I have stayed here several times now and have always been very satisfied. Friendly staff, lovely rooms with lots of wood and a great atmosphere. For a food lover like me, though, the highlight is the kitchen.

We recently celebrated our wedding here. The team is super friendly and helpful and made all of our wishes come true. The service was wonderfully attentive.

We had dinner in the beer garden – delicious food and friendly staff. Fair prices, too. Highly recommended.

A house of togetherness. Let’s start in the kitchen.

Our head chef Florian Zapf is twenty-two and has been in the kitchen for seven years – trained at Rebhan’s in Neukenroth. Ercan Cinar brings the Oriental cuisine he grew up with. Every recipe on our menu was developed by the two of them together.

For young and old, locals and visitors – with us, that’s not just words above the door.

Two kinds of Köfte. One shape.

One Oriental, on Turkish rice with onion salad and yoghurt dip. The other Franconian, made from bratwurst meat, on homemade Semmeltaler with sauerkraut and dark beer sauce. Same shape, same handiwork, two cuisines.

Your inn in the Franconian Forest – dine, celebrate, stay

The Schwarzes Kreuz sits in the heart of Teuschnitz, one of the highest-lying little towns of the Franconian Forest – just a few steps from the herb garden and the Arnica Academy. Whether after a hike on the Rennsteig or the Frankenwaldsteig, a bike tour across the ridges or a trip to Rosenberg Fortress in Kronach: this is where you stop in, arrive and gladly stay a while.

In our kitchen, Franconian classics meet oriental specialities – from Wiener Schnitzel to homemade börek and the oriental grill platter. Add regional ingredients, homemade lemonades and beers from Franconian breweries, best enjoyed in summer in our beer garden seating 100.

If you would like to stay, spend the night in one of our eleven lovingly restored rooms full of natural wood – breakfast with oven-fresh rolls in the morning. And if you have something to celebrate, our function room, restaurant and terrace provide the perfect setting for weddings, birthdays and company events. We look forward to seeing you!

Celebrate & meet at the Schwarzes Kreuz

Weddings, birthdays, christenings, anniversaries or business meetings – up to 50 seats in our function room, 70 in the restaurant and 100 in the beer garden. Best of all: your guests stay overnight right here, in 11 cosy rooms.

Wirtshaussingen – pub singing

From autumn to spring we sing together once a month. No programme, no admission, no stage – song sheets lie on the tables, and whoever joins in, joins in. If you happen to stay with us on such an evening, you are warmly invited.

Next date: Monday, 12 October, from 7 pm.
In summer we take a break – that’s beer garden season.

Sunday lunchtime: a changing Sunday roast – classic, no shortcuts. Reservations recommended.
